Save the date! 38th Annual scientific meeting: September 27-29, 2024
The VSR would like to offer this guidance to our members regarding receiving the Covid-19 vaccine for yourself and for your staff:
If you are employed in a private practice, you must contact your local health department to register for the Covid-19 vaccines for staff and providers. The VSR has secured a list of Vaccine Coordinators in the Commonwealth - please contact us to secure that list.
Virginia is now vaccinating Phase 1A, in alignment with the CDC Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices. The Virginia Department of Health is prioritizing these first vaccinations for CDC-defined Healthcare Personnel and Long-term Care Facility residents.
If you are an active practicing provider, first, visit the Virginia Department of Health website using this link. Find your Health District and EMAIL or CALL your district office. Include your name and practice info and a statement that you are requesting the vaccine for your practice/providers and staff. If you don’t hear anything in a day or so, call or email and ask again. Don’t be afraid to be a squeaky wheel!
Additionally, in some cases, health systems and local health districts are partnering together and those health systems are able to vaccinate providers who are not under their umbrella. We suggest reaching out to the healthcare system(s) in your area.
Finally, the VDH has set up a call center: 877-ASK-VDH3.
